About The Artist
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be an artist. From holding art classes for my stuffed animals as a child, to taking every art class I could in high school and ultimately studying Medical Illustration at Ohio State University, my love for art has never wavered.
After a successful career in advertising and design, I felt like something was missing. When I discovered an opportunity to purchase a children's art studio, I jumped at the chance. While teaching the children, I fell in love with creating again. It was a turning point for me, and I realized that I needed to get back to my art full-time.
Never having oil painted, I knew that I needed to improve my skills and refine my craft, so I sought out the help of a local oil painter who became my mentor. Under his guidance, I honed my skills and developed a unique style that blends my classical training with a contemporary approach to painting.
My creative process involves immersing myself in the environments I paint, taking countless photographs, making sketches, and experimenting with color palettes until I find the perfect combination. I draw inspiration from the natural world, especially the ocean, sunrises, and sunsets that the east coast provides.
For me, painting is an escape from the distractions of daily life, and a reminder to enjoy the journey. My ultimate goal is to share that sense of peace, calm, and serenity with my collectors, and to create pieces that elevate not only their home decor, but also their mood, spirit, and overall well-being. My paintings are meant to transport you to a serene and peaceful mind. I want you to venture into my paintings and get lost along the way.
As a classically trained medical illustrator turned oil painter, I have spent years perfecting the art of detail, color, design, and technique. With my unique background, I am extensively qualified to work with the design community and homeowners to create custom commission pieces in almost any imaginable style. I am a proud member of the Copley Society of Art, one of the oldest art societies in the United States.
When I'm not painting, I enjoy traveling, exploring new foods and wines, spending time with loved ones, and caring for my two Snowshoe Siamese cats, Pablo and Sargent – named after two of my favorite artists.
